Unlocking more options for your clients with asset-based lending

When a client needs funding to support growth, an acquisition or their working capital requirements, the solution may already be sitting with them.

Asset-based lending (ABL) enables businesses to unlock funding against assets they already own or generate, including receivables, stock, machinery, vehicles, equipment and property. Unlike traditional lending, which typically looks at historic performance and affordability, ABL focuses on the quality and value of the assets already within the business.
In this BusinessTV interview, Josh Levy, CEO of Ultimate Finance, joins Marc Harris to explain how asset-based lending works and why it is an important funding option for brokers, accountants and advisers to understand.
The conversation explores how ABL can help introducers support clients across a range of scenarios. That includes providing additional working capital as a business grows, helping fund acquisitions, supporting investment in machinery and equipment, and providing liquidity where cash is tied up in receivables.
It also challenges the misconception that asset-based lending is primarily for businesses experiencing difficulty. Josh Levy explains why ABL can be particularly effective for growing businesses, where increasing sales can create a larger working capital requirement before the corresponding cash is received.
For introducers, early engagement can be especially valuable. Josh highlights the role advisers can play in understanding a client’s requirements, identifying the lenders best suited to that requirement and creating more options by starting the funding conversation sooner.
At Ultimate Finance, that conversation is about finding the right solution rather than fitting every client into a single product. Our ABL capability spans Invoice Finance, Asset Finance, Bridging Finance and more complex Structured Finance solutions, allowing funding to be structured around the assets available and what the business is looking to achieve.
