A typical day/week…
My role is all about building relationships. Talking to clients, finding out what their needs are and finding solutions to suit. Most of my time is spent out on the road meeting new clients, or catching up with current ones to make sure everything is running smoothly and see if there’s anything more we can do help them.
When I’m in the office, I assess risk, troubleshoot any issues that may arise, and also conduct reviews with clients to make sure all is going well and the products they have are working for them.
Around 80% of my clients have both Trade and Invoice Finance facilities in place, which is great because it means we provide an end-to-end funding solution. Our customers are busy business owners, so to be able to offer them a ‘one stop shop’ takes the weight off their shoulders.
What I like most about my job
I love forging relationships with my clients and getting to know their businesses. I get to deal with a whole variety of companies – I have 30 clients that span sectors from retail to health and beauty to medicine. My clients know they can always reach me at the other end of the line, and I understand their business and how they like to work.
I’m constantly seeing and learning new things, watching businesses grow and develop, and just trying to provide the best service I can. There’s a real satisfaction in building relationships and helping clients get to where they want to be.
I also love the environment at Ultimate Finance. We have a really positive culture – everyone knows everyone and there’s a supportive and can-do atmosphere. It’s a really nice place to work.
What good funding means to me
For me, good funding is simple. It’s about being flexible, understanding the client’s business and how funding can help them, and then delivering.
One of the other things I love about my job is that I am empowered to make decisions – we’re not a faceless corporation – so I have the authority to put the things in place that will deliver good funding to the client.
